Feasibilty Study

Saint Francis Hospice wished to raise an additional £1 million over a 5 year period and wanted to test the feasibility of this ambition. I wrote a compelling case for support, developed a test scale of giving, and undertook a number of interviews with key stakeholders.  I produced a final report which showcased the findings from the qualitative research and made robust recommendations on the feasibility of meeting the stated ambition.  The report allowed the Board of Trustees and Senior Management Team to make an informed decision on how best to proceed.


Interim Management

I provided long term cover leading the hospice's Individual Giving function.  I designed a new process for managing campaigns which included standardised plans, data selection forms, reporting templates and evaluation sheets.  This ensured each appeal and communication was delivered with key objectives that could be reported on to measure performance.  We also developed a new Christmas cash appeal which significantly improved the previous year's results. 


Community Fundraising StRategy

Against Breast Cancer wanted to set up a new community fundraising programme from scratch. Combining analytical expertise and strategic knowledge, I produced a comprehensive 5-year fundraising strategy detailing selected audiences, supporter growth forecasts and the likely returns they would see.  The strategy gave Against Breast Cancer a clear road map on how to raise additional income.  They have started the implementation by restructuring their management team and recruiting a new fundraiser. 


Interim Management

I provided short term cover as Fundraising Director during a period of change for the hospice.  During my tenure, I reviewed the fundraising strategy and re-forecast the 5 year budget.  I produced end of year reports, re-wrote the fundraising promise, recruited new staff and claimed an additional £40,000 in Gift Aid. 


Individual GIving Programme Review

Born Free requested a review of their Individual Giving programme to assess its strengths, weaknesses, and how it could achieve growth.  I interviewed team members, analysed data and assessed fundraising activity.  I produced a final written report with recommendations on how income growth could best be achieved and supporter experience improved.  Since the report, Born Free have restructured their Individual Giving function and have invested in new resources to scale up the operation.
